SIF Category Sees ₹2,005 Crore Net Inflows in October, AUM Crosses ₹2,010 Crore
The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) has released the latest data for the newly introduced Specialised Investment Fund (SIF) category, signalling growing investor interest in alternative mutual fund structures.
According to Amfi, the four SIF schemes collectively received ₹2,005 crore in net inflows during October 2025, taking their combined assets under management (AUM) to ₹2,010 crore. The category now manages these inflows through 10,212 investor accounts (folios)—an encouraging start for a new segment that aims to bridge traditional and alternative investing.
Early Entrants Lead the Charge
Among the SIF schemes launched so far are:
Edelweiss Altiva Hybrid Long Short Fund
SBI Magnum Hybrid Long Short Fund
Quant qSIF Equity Long Short Fund
These products adopt long–short equity and hybrid strategies to deliver absolute-return-style outcomes, offering flexibility to both retail and institutional investors seeking diversification beyond conventional equity and debt avenues.
A Growing Alternative Avenue
The SIF framework, recently approved by Sebi, allows fund houses to create hybrid and strategy-specific funds combining equity, debt, arbitrage, and derivatives exposure under one umbrella. Early inflows suggest that investors are beginning to embrace sophisticated portfolio tools previously limited to institutional or high-net-worth investors.
Industry experts expect the SIF space to expand further as awareness and product innovation deepen.
